Steve Adamyk Band remains Canada’s premiere power-pop/punk crossover
group. Throughout the last decade, the band has toured Japan, Europe
(four times) and all across North American, unleashing five albums and
a long list of seven inch singles. But it hasn’t been easy. Most
bands, by this stage, would likely have called it quits, yet Steve has
persevered. When their most-consistent lineup to date unraveled in
2016, it would have been natural to end it where it stood, but the
wheels kept turning (and touring) regardless.

Fast-forward to 2019 and the band has been reborn. SAB is now
solidified as a three-piece live (with Pat Johnson of The Acorn on
Drums and Johnny O of Uranium Comeback on bass) and are somehow
tighter, more focused than ever, as a recent European tour proved last
summer. On record, the threesome have also retained original member
Dave Williams on vocals to give the songs the same vibe everyone has
grown to love. Paradise – the album itself – is nothing short of a
monster. Suitably with a new lineup, the band has also beefed-up their
sound. With their original feel in mind, there is nothing lo-fi about
this record.

Recorded by Mike Bond at Wolf Lake (Crusades) and mixed by Jesse
Gander (White Lung, Japandroids) in Vancouver, Paradise is a sonically
huge offering, with just the right amount of scuzz and crud where
needed. 12 new rippers, including an incredible cover of “Telephone”
by The Incredible Kidda Band.  Keep an eye out for the band in 2019 –
Steve Adamyk Band is back and won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Good Shade “Way Out” Shipping Now!

Good Shade "Way Out"

NOW SHIPPING!!

“Way Out” is the 4th studio full length by Columbus Ohio’s Good Shade.
Good Shade is a punk/pop band from Columbus, Ohio. The project
consists of one member, Shane Natalie, who composes and records all
instruments and vocals on the recorded albums but features an array of
Columbus musicians who bring the project to life for local and touring
purposes. Shane Natalie started recording the first S/T LP in 2013
with the help of Evan Wolff (Vacation, Pretty Pretty) following the
break up of Tight Bros in which Natalie played drums. In addition to
Tight Bros and Good Shade, Natalie has performed with Lose the Tude,
Puberty Wounds, Pretty Pretty and The Sidekicks. Shane has also had
the privilege to record for bands such as The Sidekicks, All Dogs,
didi, Puberty Wounds, Pretty Pretty, Bomb the Music Industry and many
more. He is presently an elementary Special Education teacher. The
band’s current touring lineup features Shane Natalie on guitar and
vocals, Patrick Matanle (Toxic Womb, Puberty Wounds) on bass guitar
and Chris Mengerink (Brat Curse) on drums and vocals.

Good Shade self-released (Gut Genug Recordings) the first S/T LP
(vinyl, digitally) and second LP “Breakfast” (CD, digitally). The
third LP “Lunch”, was released digitally through Jeff Rosenstock’s
Quote Unquote Records with limited vinyl distribution (125) through AF
Record’s Annual Record Club in addition to the remainder of the
records being self-released (Gut Genug Recordings). While previous
Good Shade releases have been inspired by political and social
disparities, “Way Out”  primarily focuses on deteriorating mental
health and increased social anxiety. True to Good Shade‘s nature, the
album features a rock and roll combination of fast paced melodic pop
punk and dark, cynical weirdness that keeps the listener engaged and
curious. Though still lyrically abstract like its predecessors
“Breakfast” and “Lunch”, the emotions “Way Out” elicits are
identifiable and take a more personal turn, exposing the confused,
frustrated and somewhat troubled mind of Natalie.

“Way Out” is a tempo-varied collection of rock and pop numbers; each
song consisting of unpredictable vocal melodies, bright Telecaster
tone and spastic but warm drums progressions. The album will be
available digitally and on vinyl via Dirtnap Records.

Pressing of 500 on black vinyl, all copies come with download.

Track List:
1.      Maybe
2.      We Were Wrong

7.      Credit Score
8.      Something’s Wrong

Martha “Love Keeps Kicking”

Love Keeps Kicking

County Durham indie-punk heroes Martha have announced details of their brand new album Love Keeps Kicking, out April 5th via Dirtnap Records (N. America) and Big Scary Monsters (elsewhere). The third full-length from the much loved quartet, Love Keeps Kicking is a celebration in the face of heartache, told through 11 career best anthems.

Having introduced fans to their new music with the riotous ‘Heart Is Healing’ late last year, today Martha have shared the album’s incredible title track ‘Love Keeps Kicking’, along with a tongue-in-cheek video homage to 50s alien invasion movies. Watch now on YouTube.

Of the video, directors Ben Epstein and David Combs said: “We wanted to do an old sci-fi alien invasion pastiche and create a threat that no one can outrun, because as the song implies, at some point or another, we all feel the harsh sting of heartbreak. And what better metaphor is there for the inevitability of a broken heart than the swift kick of a giant disembodied foot? It basically wrote itself.”

In many ways Love Keeps Kicking is a breakup record, with each song inhabiting different parts of the process. In true Martha style, the album dissects emotions and moments with poignancy and the wry lyrical wit present throughout their back-catalogue. A pop band at heart, the record sees the band writing with reinvigorated focus, producing some of their biggest choruses and the greatest sing-along moments yet.

Martha will celebrate the release of Love Keeps Kicking with an extensive European tour, kicking of at Madrid’s Popfest on 22nd March. The tour will see the band play some of their biggest headline shows today, including a date at The Garage, London on 16th April. Tickets for for all shows are available from marthapunx.com. Full dates below.
